MEMBERSHIP
The ACC consists of individuals who are
committed both to the integration of Biblical theology with the principles of
counselling, and to the development of excellence in their own counselling
theory and practice.
Because we recognise the value of
diversity within the helping relationship, we offer membership opportunities in
four separate divisions:

Specialised Counsellors include
psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, licensed counsellors, pastoral
counsellors and other who have advanced training in counselling.

|
Lay Counsellors include other
professionals, church members, students, members of para-church organizations,
spouses of professional or religious leaders and others who are trained and
involved in Christian counselling.
|
|
Para-Professional Counsellors
include pastors, medical doctors, psychiatric nurses, youth leaders,
missionaries, Christian educators and others with theological and/or counselling
training.
|
|
Dual Registered Counsellors are
people who are registered and in good standing with their own professional
statutory bodies, but who desire to be cross-registered as Christian counsellors.
